10/3/2017 0 Comments illuminated lettersWhen working with the ink pens i have learned a lot of techniques for using the pens. I have learned that there are two different pens that can be used when working with ink. During the past art classes we have put the ink pens to use by learning and then making illuminated letters that were originally in the Book of Kells that is now held in Trinity College. Our illuminated letters are meant to reflect things about yourselves that are important to you and things that are interesting to you.

9/25/2017 0 Comments hand contour and valueThe definition of drawing is taking what you see in the 3D world and flattening it onto the 2D picture plane. Blind contour is so important when learning how to draw because it allows you to get all the extra features in you hand that make the drawing more realistic. My experience/ thought process for drawing the wrinkles on my hand by noticing the dark and light spots on my hand. By noticing the dark and light areas of my hand the wrinkles stood out because they were the darkest thing on my hand when drawing.
9/12/2017 0 Comments upside-down drawingthe upside down drawing is easier because you have no clue what you are drawing whiole you are drawing. your brain can pick what side of the brain to use. when confronted by hands that are folded your brain immediately tells you that you cannot draw that and it ruins the whole thing. my experience copying picasso's igor stravinsky challenging and fun at the same time. the reason i say that is because since i had no clue what i was drawing i could just draw and not expect a bad outcome. the line-syle i use it something in between a ligth and dark stroke. |
